Welcome to the WEBSITE of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago.
This year our Chamber continues its efforts to serve the City of Chicago by fostering entrepreneurship, assisting existing businesses and providing our members, friends, colleagues and supporters an opportunity to share ideas, concerns, business trends and best practices.
Our two major events on January 26, 2008, the Healthcare Business Forum and the International Business Awards’ Night at the University of Illinois, Chicago Student Center East, and Harold Washington Library Winter Garden, were very productive and inspiring. They are milestones in the 23-year history of our Chamber.
My gratitude and admiration go to the committee members headed by Mary Carmen Madrid-Crost, the marketing team chaired by Ray Villar and Marie Espero, the media and publicity crew led by Alex Cirera, budget and finance by Ely Natividad and supported by Anthony Andaleon.
The Chamber is also indebted to Jan Paul Ferrer, Vivian Balagtas and husband Max, Luz Nunez, Evelyn Natividad, David Gallermo, Vicky Silvano, Sheila Ferrer, Carmen Estacio, Nell & Lain Frias, Cris Guerrero, Fred and Chit Navarro, Ram Cabanero, Fred de Asis, Carlo Lucero, Larry Crost, Liza Lopez, Judy Madrid-Pecson, Eloy Cordon, and to our hardworking Executive Director, James Villar.
We have other worthwhile projects scheduled this year. Alex Cirera, Eloy Cordon, and Ray Villar will launch an intensive membership drive.
We will start planning the 2nd Philippine Trade Mission to the Philippines with co-chairs Ely Natividad and Dr. Ed Relucio. In addition, we will also have a Filipino-American Street Festival to help improve the visibility of Filipino-Americans in the community. It will be co-chaired by Alex Cirera and James Villar.
June is election month and we are going to elect a new set of Officers and Board of Directors. This will be our first election under our new Constitution and By-laws promulgated last year.
Be sure you pay your membership fee at least 30 days before the election date so you can qualify to vote.
Again, many thanks and more power to you.
Cynthia (Cindy) C. Flores
